Initially offered as a coupe, a convertible version was added for 1990. It used gm's venerable 3800 v6 and sported a fully independent suspension and front wheel drive. The reatta was conceived during a period in the early to mid-1980s when the buick division was marketing high performance editions of its vehicles (such as the buick grand national). The convertible reatta was introduced in 1990 and came with a manually-operated top designed by asc, available in vinyl or cloth, this is the cloth version, with a glass rear window and electric defroster. When retracted, the top is protected by a rigid tonneau cover. This example is done in the highly desirable red, of which only 668 were produced in 1990, with camel tan interior and top with newer tires and only 40k miles.
